Youth Contest Awards and New Free Film Series on Climate Change

03/10/18

Summary

On Saturday, March 10th at 2 PM, 350.org Washington County invites the public to an engaging free event featuring youth contest awards, plus educational short films and conversation.

The event leads off with two short films and conversation around climate change and community action, and then winners of the first annual 350.orgWashington County Climate Essay contest will be announced. We invite our Washington County community to come applaud these engaged youth leaders.

The March 10th event kicks off 350.org Washington County’s new series of free educational events: One World Films and Conversation – Leading to Green Starts in Washington County!

The film and conversation series will cover a variety of climate change and sustainability topics. Attendees can expect unique and challenging films along with special guests. We guarantee lively conversations about how all of us in Washington County can take action to build sustainability and resilience, and work to fight against climate change.

ABOUT 350.org Washington County: 350.org Washington County was formed in 2016 to take local action on important climate change issues. We work locally and regionally in partnership with the global grassroots climate movement to end fossil fuel burning and facilitate the rapid and just transition to renewable energy sources (such as wind, water, and solar), in order to safeguard Earth’s life-support systems
