Bag&Baggage Productions Proudly Presents...

Write A Play! Playwright’s Showcase

Summary

Join us at The Vault for an evening of original work as the members of our Write A Play! Workshop, facilitated by Dan Kitrosser, present portions of the plays they have written over the past several weeks! Scenes from each play will be read by B&B Resident Acting Company members, Associate Artists, and Emerging Artists. This event is FREE. The playwrights and plays are as follows:

ANYPL(ACE) by Autumn Buck

Ace is asexual. Archie is non-binary. Both are seniors in high school navigating their final year together before college. Through a lakeside cabin, lucid dreams, serious heart surgery, and blue Slurpees, Ace and Archie learn what it means to grow up and grow apart, as well as what it takes to stay together in a world still trying to understand them.

Of Pinewood and Mountain Face by Lindsay Partain

Bringing to life the magic and the rich folklore of the Pacific Northwest, Of Pinewood and Mountain Face takes place at the Red Cedar Inn where long-time friends Sabrina and Miles work. Between crass jokes and cleaning glasses, the pair spin stories about the people who stay with them to pass the time — until their world splits apart. Literally. When a 9.6 level earthquake hits, it leaves Sabrina, Miles, and their guests to fend for themselves in the National Forest of Washington. And what better way to pass the time when the world is tearing itself apart? Stories, of course.

(T)RAIN by Sharon Gavin

(T)RAIN highlights the lives of several passengers aboard a MAX Blue Line train to Hillsboro, focusing on the people we may notice but never really see. Characters often break the fourth wall…some never even acknowledge its existence. To them, all the world’s a stage.
