Hillsboro’s STAGES Performing Arts Youth Academy, critically acclaimed youth theater, is bringing back by popular demand, TEA FOR THREE: Lady Bird, Pat and Betty, a play written by Emmy award winning actress, Elaine Bromka and writer, Eric Weinberger.  STAGES  Executive Director, Cindy Wilkins, has put together a unique intergenerational show, with 3 dynamic actors and a very talented teen vocal group.  The presidency is so much in the forefront of today’s news, STAGES believes that walking back through history with these 3 First Ladies will be a fascinating look into the private thoughts of the First Ladies of the 60’s and 70’s. TEA FOR THREE will be performed on September 14th and 15th at 7:30 pm and September 16th at 2:00 pm. Performances will be at the Vault Theatre in Hillsboro.  Tickets are $15 and proceeds from this three day theater event, go to support ongoing theater training and performances for youth in Washington County.  Purchase tickets at www.stagesyouth.org

The cast of STAGES first presentation of Tea for Three are back to recapture their roles. The cast has noted that this experience has been exhilarating, educational and inspiring.  Patti Speight will portray Betty Ford, Sandee Cnossen plays Pat Nixon and native Texan, Virginia Kincaid, plays Lady Bird Johnson. All three first ladies play the stage individually as they share what their last nights in the White House, were like. TEA FOR THREE: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty gives the audience, a “behind the scenes” and very private look, into the real lives of these uniquely American first ladies. Each first lady is from a different part of the US and as they tell their stories, we learn even more about our country.
