As You Like It or, Love In A Forest

07/12/18 - 07/29/18

Summary

Adventure. Mistaken Identity. Romance. Rivalry. Comedy. Love. Shakespeare’s classic As You Like It gets the full Bag&Baggage treatment in a new summer location (The Vault Courtyard and Theater), and in a new, world premiere adaptation! B&B is digging deep into the literary history of the Bard’s brilliant romantic comedy, combining Shakespeare’s story of Rosalind and Orlando with the almost completely unknown Restoration-era adaptation, Love In A Forest by Charles Johnson.

In this creative re-imagining, Shakespeare’s play has been “tidied up” and romantic entanglements are made even more entangled, resulting in a fresh, delightful new take on the charming Forest of Arden! A not-to-be-missed summer romantic comedy in true Bag&Baggage style.

One of the most beloved of all Shakespeare’s romantic comedies… a comedy that is poignant in portraying real human beings and underscores the power that love and peace have to overcome the forces of greed and deception…
