A Party Inspired by the “Other 20’s” when Harlem was as Queer as it was Black

Drawing from the famed Ball Culture, Rent-Parties, Nightclubs, and Salons of the Harlem Renaissance, our 20th Anniversary Gala will be an affair to remember. This is not your traditional gala, but a celebration of art, artists, and history that’s bursting at the seams with creative energy, interactive performances, dancing, and music.

Recommended for ages 21+

Shindig at the Scholls! is an evening in Two Acts, transforming the Scholls Valley Lodge and adjacent ‘barn’, and transporting you back in time to the height of the Harlem Renaissance in New York City. Attend the whole shebang (a ticket to both Acts) or just join us for the Juke Joint (an Act II ticket). B&B artists will be immersed in the environment, with impromptu songs, poetry, secrets, and more available to suit your discerning taste.

Act One: The Savoy Experience |  6-7:30pm
The evening begins with an intimate experience inside the Lodge, an exclusive prelude to the celebration. Featuring: a marquee blues performance, a celebration of our guests of honor, heavy appetizers, signature drinks, salon portraiture, private giving, and bespoke performances in hideaways throughout our speakeasy.

Act Two:  The B&B Juke Joint | 7-9pm
The action spills out into the ‘Ballroom’ for the main event, a celebration of artists, history, and community. Featuring: live jazz, light refreshments, lindy-hopping, special guest performers, roaming artists, pop-up poetry, drinks, and dancing. All the while secrets are still being spilled, and private performances are still on offer back at the speakeasy.
