The Magazine Series: Pre-show Lectures

Summary

MagazinesThe Magazine Series is an audience engagement and outreach program, funded by Len and Susan Magazine, that sees directors, academics, designers, actors, and other theatre professionals presenting lectures and discussions related to each of the shows in B&B’s 2016-2017 Season.

Our third season of The Magazine Series lectures and discussions is free and open to the public; lectures will take place immediately prior to every Friday performance by Bag&Baggage throughout the 2016-2017 Season.

Magazine Series Lectures for Bronte will take place in the Hillsboro Public Library Foyer starting at 7:10pm, immediately prior to the performance.

Friday March 3rd
Directing The Brontes: A discussion with guest director Michelle Milne on her approach to the text

Friday March 1oth
Overcoming Hurdles: Artistic Director Scott Palmer discusses the unique history of Branwell Bronte, the powerfully influential brother to the Anne, Charlotte, and Emily

Friday March 17th
The Music Of The Brontes: Artistic Director and Sound Designer Scott Palmer talks with Tylor Neist, Artistic Director of Bridgetown Orchestra, on the live music chosen for the show

Friday March 24th
Living Literature: Discuss the crucial role that the Hillsboro Library plays in ensuring that all residents of Hillsboro can get access to literature (guest speaker TBD)

Land Acknowledgement

We ask all visitors to The Vault Theater to take a personal moment to acknowledge and honor the Atfalati band of the Kalapuya tribe, upon whose ancestral lands this building stands. We pay our respects to elders both past and present.
