A STAR-STUDDED VALENTINE’S DAY CABARET

Bag&Baggage Productions presents an evening of contemporary dance, opera, music, comedy, ballet and performance to celebrate Valentine’s Day, featuring a star-studded line-up of some of the region’s most celebrated artists and performers

Hillsboro, OR – Bag&Baggage Productions, Hillsboro’s resident professional theatre, is proud to announce a new event in celebration of Valentine’s Day; Cabaret Cupid, an evening of song, dance, comedy and performance featuring some of the region’s most celebrated artists and performers.
The event will take place on February 14^th, 2014 at 7:30pm at The Venetian Theatre and will include nearly 2 hours of contemporary dance, opera, music, comedy, ballet, poetry, monologues and performances selected specifically to celebrate love and romance. “This is a new venture for us,” said Scott Palmer, B&B’s Artistic Director. “We have reached out to some of our best friends and colleagues from across the region and the response has been overwhelming. Cabaret Cupid will be a star-studded evening of entertainment unlike anything we have ever done before.”

 

Headliners for the show, which will be done in true cabaret style, include Portland’s musical theatre phenomenon Susannah Mars, choreography by Christopher Stowell (formerly the Artistic Director at Oregon Ballet Theatre) and Anne Mueller (former OBT ballerina), music by The Skidmore Bluffs and piano and comedy by David Saffert, and more.

 

“The line-up of performers is simply incredible,” said Anne Mueller, B&B’s Managing Director, who is also providing new choreography for the event. “It is remarkable that so many of the region’s best-know and best-loved artists and performers have come together to make this event possible. It is rare to see this collection of talent, from so many different performance styles, all together in one place and time.”
