- Pay What You Will: Troy, USA
Thursday, March 4, 2021
Welcome to Troy, USA, 1973. As the Vietnam War wanes, tensions are high in this neighborhood outside of Detroit, with the burning of draft cards and refusal to gentrify. A Chorus of historic activists and organizers guides us through this world-premiere adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida, examining war, race, class, oppression, betrayal, and just how far we will go for love. Featuring a powerful multi-racial ensemble cast, Troy, USA marks the third commission of our Problem Play Project, supported by the Meyer Memorial Trust, and the first major collaboration between playwrights Dmae Roberts and Don Wilson Glenn.
