Bridging the Distance by Joey Copsey

Bridging the Distance
The illusive tendrils of your love
Feel their way through abyssal voids
In this time of distance.
My fingertips stretching in the dark
Like lures longing to snare and pull
Reeling in your arms to embrace my soul.

No physical touch is needed
when I know you are there.
Friend, relation, lover of my heart.
Your love reflects mine and somewhere
They meet in the inbetween
To commingle in the gloaming
Before the dawn

No germ can divide
The feeling from the feeler
No catacomb of self containment
Can restrain the joy of sentiment truly given.
Off in the minds eye we hug and laugh.
And that’ll do for now.
