Gabriela Portuguez

Born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. Dance training began through artist dance residencies in Los Angeles and Portland.  Her artistic development includes commercials, live performances and assistant dance education in professional studios such as Millennium Dance Complex and The Edge.  In Portland, her artistic training extended by working with the WNBA and AFL Dance industry from a dancer to choreographer.  This is her first year working with Bag&Baggage as Choreographer for Troy USA.  Her professional artistic development then led to theater as an outreach educator, actress, business administrator and producer/director for non-profit performing arts organizations such as White Bird, Miracle Theatre, Profile Theatre and currently in her first year working with PPS Performing Arts Program at King Elementary. She began her own performing arts production to incorporate writing, creating, and promoting a cultural perspective in the bilingual arts community called Latin Groove PDX Productions. Her desire to spearhead in the bi-lingual performing arts is prompted in her own personal research as a bilingual bicultural female, daughter, sister and mother.
