Ruth Jenkins, she/her (Madame Pernelle, Loyal, Police Officer) – holds a Bachelor of
Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Sciences
in Speech Language Pathology from Portland State University. Ruth is excited to be in
her second performance with Bag&Baggage. Other companies she has performed with locally include Experience Theatre, Twilight Theater, Lakewood Theatre, Canon Shakespeare Company, New Century Players, and Hillsboro Artists’ Regional Theatre. She also worked at California Theatre Center and TheatreWorks in the Bay Area and at the
Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Colorado. Ruth co-owns and performs with Viewers
Like You, LLC which has produced ComedySportz for the last thirty years, and several
social justice themed plays, including Ruth’s play Quality of Death. Favorite recent roles
include: Our Utopia (as Aurora), The Importance of Being Earnest (as Miss Prism),
Romeo and Juliet and Shakespeare in Love (as the Nurse in both); Love, Loss and
What I Wore (as Gingy); and Much Ado About Nothing (as Leonato). Ruth has worked as a speech language pathologist for nearly thirty years. She is grateful to her multi-talented husband, Patrick, and two adult children, Cowan (a journalist) and Fiona (an actress).
