Jenny Newbry
she/her
Jenny Newbry holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Florida Atlantic University, a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Idaho, and is a certified Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework ® — it was during this training program that Cinnamon and Cigarettes was born. Having fallen in love with acting when she was four years old while playing Chicken Little at South Suburban Recreation Center, Jenny has tried many pursuits over the years but always comes back to the performing arts. She feels most at home when creating and sharing stories with audiences. Some of her favorite roles include Cathy/Bertha in Brontë (Bag&Baggage); May in Fool for Love (Asae Dean Productions); Portia in The Merchant of Venice (Portland Actors Ensemble); and Ophelia in Hamlet (Idaho Shakespearience Festival). A bit of a gypsy, she has lived in over 30 homes, and has studied and performed all over the world, from New York to LA to Moscow.
