We’ve made it to 2021, COVID vaccines are rolling out, and we just survived an Oregon snowpocalypse – things are looking up! We’re also excited to be collaborating with LineStorm Playwrights and PDX Playwrights to bring a sixth round of Sequestered Soliloquies your way, with a theme capturing our current mood: “The Light at the End of the Tunnel”. Ten teams (playwright, actor, director) will create, rehearse, and perform brand-new monologues, which will be streamed directly to your screens on B&B’s Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 7:00pm on Sunday, February 28th. Each monologue incorporates a line borrowed from “The Woman Who Was Done” – an aptly-titled short story from a 1902 Sunday Edition of The St. Louis [Missouri] Republic, which contains one of the earliest appearances of the phrase “light at the end of the tunnel”. (You learn something new every day…) If you can’t catch us live on the 28th, don’t worry: a full video of all the soliloquies will be available on our website for anytime viewing, along with the videos of our other five rounds of Sequestered Soliloquies. Thanks for continuing to celebrate virtual instant theatre with us!
