Bring your friends and family and let’s explore issues and talk! \nFree film and free popcorn! \nAll of our modern civilized lives revolve around energy use. To the Ends of the Earth follows a group of concerned citizens and experts as they bear witness to humanity’s descent further down the energy “resource pyramid.” At the top of the pyramid\, energy is easy to find and cheap\, and it requires minimal labor and has the highest capital and energy return on investment\, as in the case of Saudi oil. In the middle of the pyramid\, resources are more difficult and costly to extract\, as in the case of the Alberta tar sands and shale gas: “Drill\, baby\, drill” has become “mine\, baby\, mine\,” “steam\, baby\, steam\,” and “frack\, baby\, frack.” At the bottom of the pyramid there are resources such as Utah’s oil shale\, the economic feasibility of which\, despite billions in investments\, remains uncertain. Lots of great information in this film – food for thought and conversation! \nDon’t miss this great event!

Comedian Marvin Lee’s “The other side’s playbook” looks at relationships from her side\, his side\, and then the truth. Quevaughn Bryant offers a hilarious take on social commentary that will leave you laughing as well as thinking long after the show is over. All the time reminding us that a spoonful of laughter helps the truth go down. Although each performance is unique unto itself\, there is one common theme that runs throughout the night…yes you guessed it\, Truth will B Told. \n  \nMARVIN LEE \nLife can be interesting growing up in a bi-racial household in the deep south\, but also full of laughs. With the exception of Asian\, Marvin Lee has been mistaken for every minority living in the U.S. to the final conclusion of “What are you?”…. Hilarious is the answer.  In school\, Marvin became the unofficial ambassador between all the races. This could have been a noble calling if Marvin didn’t enjoy screwing with people’s heads\, and if he could get a good laugh out of it at the same time…so be it. Our invited guests will be welcomed to The Vault\, and offered the chance to tell us their stories\, to lift their voices\, and give us all the benefit of their lives\, and experiences. Our attendees are asked to give these voices their full attention\, to be present\, and to listen with love\, respect\, and kindness. We do not expect\, there will be discussions or an opportunity to engage in questions and answers. Instead\, the intention is to give our space over 100% to hearing and listening; what we do with what we hear is up to us. \n  \nThe adapter of the featured play The Island in Winter or\, La Isla en Invierno Carlos-Zenen Trujillo community writer\, and actor. Born in Cuba\, Carlos has lived in Hillsboro since 2006. Currently studying theatre at Oregon State University. Carlos is the first play write to take on the “problem play project”\, an attempt to adapt some of Shakespeare’s most under produced shows into a culturally relative new works. \n  \nNoel Alvarez\, Cuban native began his career as a magician announcer\, and actor on children’s television. Noel graduated from the Cuban National Circus School\, served as a Minister of Culture of Cuba for five years\, and is a member of the National Association of Writers and Aritist of Cuba. Noel plays Camillo/Babalao in the featured play.
