Marie Tyler

Hillsboro has been my home since attending 5th grade at Reedville. Bag and Baggage is such a gift to our city (and beyond) and I particularly love seeing the audience mix; all ages come to watch while B&B infuses our community with thought provoking professional theatre.   It is my privilege to serve on the board.

K Marie was born in Wisconsin and grew up mostly in Oregon. Though Oregon is now home, traveling has been one of her greatest joys in life. She lived a year in the Philippines, 2 years in Israel, has been several times to Europe, Mexico, and many ports in the Caribbean. She has spent time in Japan, and now sees the world traveling with her mom on cruises whenever possible.  She has also been to all 50 states! In 2013, she retired after 26 years with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and then took almost a year off before “failing” retirement. She is now working as an assistant Program Director with a local non-profit, Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Centers.  K Marie is a Hillsboro Rotarian, an avid Bag&Baggage fan from the theatre’s start, and can be seen around town on her daily dog walk, rain or shine, with Izzy her beloved and spoiled Weimaraner.
