DESCRIPTION:Coming to The Vault from Portland-based Teatro Milagro is Milta Ortiz’s inventive new play Judge Torres\, directed by B&B Associate Artist Mandana Khoshnevisan. Based on the true story of Multnomah County Circuit Judge Xiomara Torres\, Judge Torres is a story of magic and Mayan folktales\, of loss and abuse\, and ultimately\, of triumph against all odds. Though Xiomara came of age nearly 30 years ago\, her story and struggles with crossing the border\, missing her family\, maneuvering the US foster care system\, and aging out\, are more relevant today than ever. With the #MeToo movement and immigration reform being debated on the national stage\, Judge Torres gives audiences of all ages a way to address and discuss these sophisticated issues in an inventive\, safe space. DESCRIPTION:Coming to The Vault from Portland-based Teatro Milagro is Milta Ortiz’s inventive new play Judge Torres\, directed by B&B Associate Artist Mandana Khoshnevisan. Based on the true story of Multnomah County Circuit Judge Xiomara Torres\, Judge Torres is a story of magic and Mayan folktales\, of loss and abuse\, and ultimately\, of triumph against all odds. Though Xiomara came of age nearly 30 years ago\, her story and struggles with crossing the border\, missing her family\, maneuvering the US foster care system\, and aging out\, are more relevant today than ever. With the #MeToo movement and immigration reform being debated on the national stage\, Judge Torres gives audiences of all ages a way to address and discuss these sophisticated issues in an inventive\, safe space. DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Lakewood Theatre Company\, Bag&Baggage presents the cult classic\, The Rocky Horror Show\, in concert. This humorous musical tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through early 1970s has entranced audiences for decades with its array of characters who seduce\, entangle\, and gyrate to tunes that are out of this world – and you can be a part of it!  \nOne dark and stormy night\, Brad Majors (Colin Stephen Kane) and his fiancée\, Janet Weiss (Christine Greenhalgh) – a wholesome\, well-behaved\, utterly normal young couple in love – innocently set out to visit an old professor to celebrate their new engagement. A turn of misfortune changes their lives forever when a thunderstorm and a flat tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank ’N’ Furter (B&B Associate Artist Norman Wilson)\, a transvestite scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad\, Janet\, and Frank ’N’ Furter’s cohorts become swept up in the scientist’s latest experiment\, leading Brad and Janet to question everything they’ve known about themselves\, each other\, love\, and lust.  \nWhether you’re a Brad\, a Janet\, or somewhere in-between\, we hope to chill you\, thrill you\, and fulfill you with this exciting concert version of Lakewood Theatre Company’s recent production!
