EVOLUTION UPDATE – July 26, 2016

Dear EVOLUTION donors,

I hope the summer has been treating you well so far! I can’t believe we’re at the end of July already, and looking ahead to “The Graduate” rehearsals beginning this weekend. In EVOLUTION world, we’ve moved past the 60% mark in our fundraising, and are waiting to hear back from a couple of major foundations in the next few weeks. Here are some more specific updates for you…

Ritz Family Foundation Support

We were awarded a grant from the Ritz Family Foundation a couple of weeks ago, and are so thrilled to have the support of yet another foundation towards our EVOLUTION Campaign! A huge thank you to Pat, Trudy, Kelly, and the entire Ritz Family for bringing us closer to our goal!

We reached out to B&B patrons and donors with an EVOLUTION-specific phone-a-thon last Thursday evening, and our supporters responded by pledging more than $8,000 over the course of a few hours! Thanks to all of you who came on board with our Campaign during that time! We now have donations coming from over 200 households, and are so glad that the excitement and participation in our evolution keep spreading!

Intel Matching Gifts

Intel announced last week that their Employee Matching Gifts Program will now begin matching gifts to Arts Organizations, up to $5,000! Some of our wonderful donors have been quick to alert us and jump on this opportunity, but for any other Intel US Employees or retirees out there, we’d love to have your EVOLUTION gift doubled as part of this program. Please be in touch with me for anything you need from Bag&Baggage in order to take advantage of this amazing program at Intel!

EVOLUTION Event Opportunities

Our inaugural “Cabaret Improv” show is coming up this Saturday evening, July 30, with all proceeds from the event going towards our EVOLUTION Campaign! We’ve got a lineup of hilarious performers for the night (including Gary Strong, Andrew Beck, Kaia Hillier, Lexie Quandt, Jaquelle Davis, and myself), and some fun improv-related donation opportunities; you can also grab some beers and food from our neighbors at McNally’s and bring them over with you as you watch the show! Come hang out with us, laugh a ridiculous amount, and help us raise some more money for our Campaign in the process!Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door, and seating is limited to 50 people – make sure you don’t miss out!

For those of you who are more serious-minded, we’d love to see you at The Professional Collective’s “Healthy Business Workshop” this Thursday evening at 6:30. You can eat, drink, network, win prizes, bid for some awesome silent auction items, and learn about how to both grow your business and take care of your own health while doing so. And as a bonus, Bag&Baggage is the non-profit partner for the event, so all silent auction proceeds come to us! Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 the day of the event, and can be found online by clicking here.

As always, thanks for continuing to think of Bag&Baggage, and spread the word about our work and our evolution. We’re grateful to be heading into the bulk of our 2016-17 season with some fantastic momentum, and we know we wouldn’t be here without your support. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we’ll hopefully see you around the theatre soon!
