Dear EVOLUTION donors,
It’s our last day in the office before we take our end-of-year holiday break, and as I reflect back on all that 2016 has held, I’m blown away by all that we’ve accomplished! We mounted six unique, powerful, and compelling shows; we hosted myriad events – both our own, and in collaboration with our friends and neighbors; we launched and completed several smaller campaigns and matching challenge grants; and our $1.4 million campaign has moved past the $1.15 million mark! Thank you for coming to see our work, gifting us with your time and money, and spreading the word about the work we’re doing right here in Hillsboro. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you, and are so grateful to have you as part of the Bag&Baggage family.
Reser Matching Grant
As you may have heard if you’ve been at the theatre for Parfumerie, we were awarded a $25,000 end-of-year challenge matching grant from the Reser Family Foundation at the beginning of the month! We’re still in the midst of processing donations, but we’re currently about a third of the way to reaching this match, and we’re so grateful to have the support of the entire Reser family. A special thanks to all of you who have given – or given again – to help us reach our fundraising goals during this holiday season!
Cabaret Drunk: As Drunk as the Dickens
Thanks to all of you who came out last weekend to watch some of us lose all our dignity by performing A Christmas Carol while completely intoxicated! I (fortunately? unfortunately?) remember very little of the evening, but I’ve heard it was largely enjoyable… apologies on behalf of the entire cast for all of the inappropriate things I’m sure we said… But it’s all for a good cause, right? Drunk as the Dickens brought in almost $1500 for our EVOLUTION Campaign! We’re thrilled that all the hangovers were not in vain!
For Real This Time!
This is the third time I’ve told you we’re on the verge of beginning construction, and I really mean it this time! We officially signed our contract yesterday (see the above photo of Jon Allender from Rainier Pacific Development and Beth for proof!) and all the heavy machinery will roll in the doors on Monday morning. We couldn’t ask for a better Christmas present, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as things take shape at 350 E. Main St!
I’ll head to the theatre to catch the closing performance of Parfumerie this evening, and when we toast as a cast and crew at the very end of the night, I’ll be toasting to you, and all the incredible support you’ve given us over the past year. From all of us here at B&B, I hope the holidays bring you peace and joy, and that the end of your year is calm and happy. I can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring!
