|Dear EVOLUTION donors,
I’m so thrilled that Spring is finally here, and I hope yours is off to a good start! Here at Bag&Baggage we’ve been working away – fundraising, performing, hosting events, rehearsing, and planning for our ninth season of work as Hillsboro’s resident professional theatre company – and we’re so glad to have you all along for the ride. Here’s a little update on all that’s been going on, and the progress we’re making in our EVOLUTION…
You may remember that we were awarded a $60,000 matching grant from the Collins Foundation in the middle of February. We have been so thrilled to have the support not only of Collins, but also of you, our B&B family, in your excitement to help us reach that match goal as quickly as possible. I’m happy to report to you that we’re officially over the halfway point to that $60,000, and are looking to keep this fantastic momentum going! There’s no way we’d be here without your support, and we’re so grateful for all you’ve given to help us so far!
Phase III Update
Our Bits&Pieces and Take A Seat campaigns have been moving along smoothly, and we’ve created a Facebook event where you can follow our progress and receive updates as we fundraise, then build, then ultimately open our brand new home. Join our event to get all of the latest info, and help us spread the word to all your friends! We only have 52 chairs left, and a whole ton of bits and pieces to sell, and we’re eager to continue moving along ahead of schedule so we can have our Grand Opening as soon as possible!
Early Spring Events
The past month has seen myriad events – from the Wines of Evolution fundraiser to our Season Announcement to a variety of networking socials to this past weekend’s ShakesBEER collaboration with our neighbors at McNally’s Taproom (pictured above, as the entire house toasted the Bard). These have all been fantastic opportunities for us to spread the word and keep the conversation going about our vision and plans for the future, and we’re hoping to continue to expand our base of support as we connect with more and more members of our community.
EMMA Opens Soon!
We head into performances of “Jane Austen’s Emma” in just a couple of weeks, and we’ll be holding all of the Sunday afternoon post-show talkbacks (with the exception of closing weekend) over in our new building – please feel free to join us at any of these events for a glass of wine and some conversation with the cast! We hope to see you around – either here or at the theatre – sometime this Spring!
